KM – How it works with HR

Under the volatile knowledge economy, we need knowledge - useful and updated ones to solve problems and survive under the comeptitve envirionment.  Knowledge Managment (KM) is a feasible way to equip organizations with the essential knowledge for organizational growth and sustainability.

People is the most critical factor for the success of any KM application.  How will KM work from the HR perspective?  We have invited KMers who are also seasoned HR professionals to share with you their views, success stories or lessons learnt in applying KM at work.  This sharing session will focus on :

  • How to apply KM in organizational learning?
  • In what ways will KM help in talent acquisition and its management?
  • How will KM affect the organization's business and talent strategy?
  • What will KM contribute to enhance the organization growth and development?

If you want to know the answers to these questions and have a direct, F2F interaction with our experienced speakers, pls. don't hesitiate to enrol.

Don CHAN

Don has been working as learning and development professional for large-sized companies among the property management, retailing and aviation engineering business. He holds the Master of Knowledge Management and is keen in accumulating his knowledge in Korn Ferry Leadership Architect, Action Learning and Lego Serious Play.

Currently being the Head of Section - Talent Management and Organisation Development of HAECO, Don Chan grooms the high-flyers by spectrum of interventions, such as regular coaching, designated rotation programme, strategic project assignment, structured development centre and personality assessment.

With the experience in implementing the SuccessFactors (Succession and Development Module) among operating companies in Asia Pacific, Don is recently devoted into aligning the performance management system for the group, which involves the elements in goal setting, competencies framework formulation, job-knowledge profiling and etc.

Other than his working life, Don is also engaged in serving meals or singing "Head-and-Shoulder-Knees-and-Toes" for his son Eugene (2 yrs old boy).

Ken TAM

Ken is a knowledge management and training professional with IT, business management and accounting background. Ken holds a master degree in knowledge management, and he is also a certified NLP Practitioner and DISC trainer.

Ken has over 18 years of solid experience in leading knowledge management projects such as implementing EDMS system, building knowledge portal, designing IVRS infrastructure, e-Learning system and hosting knowledge sharing activities in various industries such as educational institutes, telecommunication, manufacturing, financial institute and construction company.

Ken is currently the Training & Development Manager of a construction materials company that oversees the training operations,  leads the management trainee program, succession  planning project and talent development program of Hong Kong and the Great China.
