The Legal industry is one area where KM has a robust role but is also an industry that is facing a lot of disruption. How can KM help with these changes and can it provide a solution in supporting innovation.

Angela Ang Angela graduated in 2013 from MSc KM with distinction. She is a solicitor with a leading international law firm in Hong Kong and is a passionate supporter of KM. Angela has over 20 years experience as a practising solicitor handling complex commercial litigation, insolvency and corporate compliance cases in Hong Kong, Melbourne and London. Angela has held the role of professional support lawyer (PSL) for over 10 years. This is a KM role which includes a wide range of duties such as managing her department’s knowledge resources and providing project management support on large client matters. Angela was the first PSL in her group and set up their KM system. She has led many projects involving the use of technology and tools for better case management and collaboration. Her role also includes rolling out her group’s training/professional development program and she regularly seeks inspiration from her MSc KM knowledge to find new ways to refresh and improve the quality and delivery of the program. Given the changing legal landscape and escalating volume of information in the daily practice of lawyers, as well as the globalisation of business, Angela will share with us some of the challenges faced in the legal environment. As the legal industry is very much a service industry, Angela will share her experience of how she practices KM in such an environment and some of the trends she is seeing in the legal profession. |

Raymond Ng Raymond is a practitioner in knowledge management with specializations in both enterprise content management and cultivation of enterprise collaboration. He has more than 10 years working experience in knowledge management, and 20 years in information technology. Over the years, by encouraging and implementing the use of relevant practices and technologies, he has demonstrated the importance of knowledge management and brought positive changes to different organizations and firms. He has led regional projects in implementing content management systems, knowledge bases and social media applications. In academic side, he has a bachelor degree in applied computing and a master degree in knowledge management. In social corporate responsibility side, he is an active participant in helping organizations by advising knowledge management and digital transformation practices. |
